Helping students send transcripts

US students who take Cambridge exams in the US use our Grade Transcript Service to send Cambridge International AS & A Level transcripts and Cambridge AICE Diploma status to US colleges and universities.

The Grade Transcript Service requires a fee of $17 per transcript request, per institution. Students may pay by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. This fee helps to ensure all student requests can be fulfilled expeditiously, tracked by students online, and available to colleges and universities by the dates indicated. Fee waivers are not available through Cambridge.

Students' Cambridge accounts enable them to:

  • Track the status of all transcript requests; including payment and delivery to institutions
  • See when institutions can access their digital transcripts
  • View the grades sent with each transcript request

When should students send transcripts

Students should usually submit only one transcript request after they matriculate to an institution, typically in spring of their senior year of high school. Students can submit a single Grade Transcript Service request, and pay a single fee per institution, by adding all their exams series in the form, including one upcoming exams series.

Institutions generally request an official transcript after a student has matriculated because it is used to determine the appropriate credit and course placement by the registrar. Most applications for admissions, including the Common App, ask students to self-report grades. Official grade transcripts are typically not requested by institutions during the admissions process.

Pre-ordering transcripts

Students may pre-order a transcript for an upcoming exam series (or before results are released) approximately 3 months before the series begins. June exam series are available in the Grade Transcript Service form starting in late February. November exam series are available in the form starting in late August.

Transcript help

Students who need assistance or are unable to complete the online grade transcript form should contact customer service by email at info@cambridgeinternational.org or by phone at 917-810-2660 (toll free, open 24 hours from Saturday 8 pm to Friday 7:59 am, Eastern Time).

Getting your students' exam grades

Student grades are available to exams officers on Direct on results release day, about two-and-a-half months after the end of the exam series. Exams officers may give students their grades either by printed report or via online access to our Candidate Results site.

Use Phase 6: Results and certificates of the Cambridge Exams Officers’ Guide to guide you through results release. This includes information on how to access grades, give students online access to their grades, and submit enquiries about results.
